Hunter Mountain’s Race, Freestyle, and Snowboard programs continue to develop some of the finest competitive athletes. Though only a few may go on to World Cup, X-Games or Olympic standings, our athletes bring their competitive experience to other venues. Aside from the benefit of, enhanced resumes, possible college scholarships, and advancement toward a Pro circuit, many past competitors come back to train our athletes. The advantage of participating in development and competitive programs can elevate the lives of our young people and set them up for future successes. The HMRF, with the help of its supporters, has been working to continue expanding opportunities and enriching the environment or all future HMRF member athletes, as well as other young and upcoming athletes involved in recreational Seasonal programs.
Who does the HMRF Support?
The Foundation's goal is to fund the needs of member athletes and their education, as well as furthering their coach’s education. All member athletes are eligible and many have received grants for camps, entry fees, travel, and education.
The grant committee has laid out guidelines, which have been voted on by the HMRF Board. Scholarship need and qualification for grants are determined and voted on by the HMRF Board.
What are the grant guidelines and what types of grants are given?
Any competitor that justifies need, or achieves beyond local competitive venues is eligible. Each case is then voted on by the Board. Grants often include scholarships for camps and programs, aiding in event and travel fees for venues beyond local competitions, and furthering educational opportunities for athletes, coaches, and program participants.
How do I find out what is going on?
You can find up-to-the-minute information on our event page. Board members are often in the Colonel’s Hall between 11:30 and 12:30 on weekends to answer questions.
